Ook dit jaar biedt de VCM een prachtig aanbod van nationale en internationale sprekers, dit jaar in het teken van Ethiek en bedrijfscultuur.  Thema: de cognitieve en de emotionele organisatie (innovatief risk management en compliance).

 

De bijeenkomst zal worden geopend door Arnold Brakel, de voorzitter van het Nederlands Genootschap  voor Bedrijfsjuristen (werkzaam bij ING Bank NV).

 

Daarnaast levert Anna Doyle, Agency Mediator en Agency Ethics Officer van Eurocontrol, een belangrijke bijdrage, evenals Christian Rau, General Counsel EMEA and Latin America of US Healthcare Company DaVita Healthcare Partners, Inc. en professor Martijn Scheltema van Pels Rijcken Droogleever Fortuijn.

 

Verder zal een tweetal bedrijfsjuristen spreken over het verschil tussen aanpak met mediationvaardigheden en de traditionele aanpak in interne en externe situaties, Ruud van Herpen, General Counsel van RES Software B.V. en Rob Huijten, Head of Law, Patents & Compliance bij Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds.

Lessons learned from a decade of workplace mediation

 

Anna Walsh Doyle (B.Sc.), an experienced practitioner in civil and European public service, has wide ranging experience in senior management in the Irish Ministries of Justice, Public Service, Lands & Agriculture, also liaising with the EU Council on two European Directives. She set up EUROCONTROL’s Mediation Service in 2006 as a channel for conflict resolution and took on the parallel role of Agency Ethics Officer in 2014. An international mediator, trainer, assessor and practitioner, her values are justice, integrity, equality, dignity, respect, trust and of course safety.

Risky business- some thoughts on succesful interaction between compliance and other enterprise functions

 

Christian Rau is the Amsterdam–based General Counsel EMEA and Latin America of US Healthcare Company DaVita Healthcare Partners, Inc. (“DaVita”). He has 20 years of experience as an external lawyer, in-house counsel and manager. Dr. Rau holds a German law degree from Freiburg University, a US law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Ph.D. in Comparative Constitutional Law. His main areas of expertise are M&A, Compliance, US Litigation and Legal Leadership.

Disputes between business and local communities

 

Martijn Scheltema is a legal practicioner/partner with Pels Rijcken and Droogleever Fortuijn (a dutch law firm based in the Hague, www.pelsrijcken.eu) and member of the Dutch Supreme Court Bar. In his practice he has amongst others experience with international dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration and other forms of ADR. Furthermore, he is involved in public interest litigation. He is an arbitrator at the Dutch arbitration institute. As a professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands) Martijn Scheltema holds a chair on enforcement issues in private law. His academic work includes over 100 academic publications.

Rob Huijten: Head of Law, Patents & Compliance bij Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds He studied Dutch Civil and Corporate Law at the University of Maastricht where he obtained his Masters of Law degree in 1994. He is Head of the Legal and IP Department, the Dutch vegetable seed company Nunhems B.V. in the Netherlands, which is a subsidiary of Bayer. He is a member in various committees and working groups of the Dutch branch organization Plantum NL , ESA (European Seed Association) and HollandBio, the Dutch Biotech organization.
